yes. I just break up my painting routine and paint some other model. Then go back to painting rank and file, cause painting 40 spears the same color scheme is hard work :(

Re: Movement Tray Preference?

Go to a modeling store (train modeling stores are the best), buy some thick plastic sheets, and some of the square plastic rods (for border). Cut the plastic sheets to the size you want, glue on the rods for the rail. Create the same basing effect as in your minis and paint. Kicks the living day lig...

Re: Undercoat tips please - black or white?

If you are going to use metalics then prime black, plus you get a tone of shading for very little effort. There is way too much armor in most HE miniatures. If you are going to use NMM or your mini does not have much armor then prime white. What ever you do make sure you have shading down packed bef...

Re: 2k beginner high elves player, long time warhammer player

I hate going into combat without fear proving my army. I like the lion standard on the spears, PG instead of lions (give them the banner of sorcery). I hate White lion chariots, too many points in a unit that can be wiped of the board with one STR 7 attack. On the other hand i am big fan of tironic ...

I like the color scheme. And i understand that the lion cloaks could not be white. you don't want your mini disappearing into the base.

I thought about pining mine or using green stuff. But change my mind after I glued on the first one. First of all there are different types of supper glue, the type I use is a gap filler. So what I did was ensure I had a great bond on the most supporting joint (best fit arm to fist if that make sens...

- I would drop two spear units, up the remaining one to 25-30 give them the lion banner. - Get two units of archers 10 each to fill up on core - get a BSB - UP the PG to 20 - get a pair of eagles. - Drop the dragon and give the second Arch-mage the book of hoeth. - Get a heavy hitter commander to bo...

Re: 1500 vs Empire

A BSB would help stabilize your line; but equip him with Sword of might and, Helm of Fortune, this way he can fight and survive a few rounds; even win. Would not a BSB with armor of caledor an great weapon fare better for cheaper cost? It wont fare better but it will certanly be cheaper. Mounting t...

Re: 1500 vs Empire

Against empire i would field spears. They perform incredibly well against low armor, low toughness opponents like empire. Two blocks of 20 would tear up those swordsmen blocks. To guard their flanks small units of PG or SM or Tironic Chariots to counter their detachments . I would put in two RBT and...

Re: Repeater Bolt Throwers

Why would you want to bunker a lv 1 or lv 2. Caddies should be hidden in terrain or in archer units. No way should you adapt your list to bunker such a mage.

If you have an archmage then I would suggest the PG, champion (to take challenges, AoC seems to help), and banner of sorcery.

Re: Priming

Always Prime! To not do so is a terrible mistake. Please prime your models after cleaning and assembling them. If you want do to save time on the paint job; just do a clean flat color scheme over a neutral prime. This will make for a well presented army, which you can come back to later to highlight...

Re: Shields on Maiden Guard

The maidens are best without shields. If I had some i would field them as archers or sea guard. i would not even try to fit shields on them. They are best as they are. Now turning them into PG might be cool. The maiden guard have bows they may be confused for Sea Guard, specially if you already have...

Re: Question About Horses and Washes

If you are going for a light color for your horse, a white undercoat is preferred specially if you are going to apply a wash. When painting white horses I do the following: 1. white under coat. 2. flesh wash. 3. dry brush just of white. 4. dry brush white 5. high light white. This works for light br...

Re: My best tournament list yet: 2250

Even if you are spamming drain magic on 5PD, its going to be very hard to get a drain magic off. As usual the Vamps I play save all their DD (at least 6) dis-spell it. In my experience Drain magic only really works with an Archmage (lv4) + Mage (L2) combo, and even then most magic heavy lists will s...

Re: Advice on 1000 point game list

My two cents: 1. If you are taking Korhil, then replace the lions for phoenix guard. Then you will have a fear causing, stubborn core. See if you can beef up the PG. 2. I would replace the lion chariots for tioronic chariots (far more versatile). use them to support your spear blocks. 3. give the li...

Re: No Frills High Elf - 1000 points

Sword of battle? why not just give him a plain great weapon and the talisman, that way you will be able to wound an opposing char and penetrate armor. And thus get a chance at those re-rolls. I don't like the ToL on a character. In my opinion it is best suited on a SM champ. Why not give the command...

1. Sword of Might: gives you a mounted hero/prince which can fight past the first round of combat. Good on BSB or Prince on Dragon. 2. Raver bow: a very close second. on a character mounted on an eagle or steed will give you a mobile range weapons platform which you can back up with a lance. This we...

It would be incredibly hard to win with this list, your only chance would be by denying your opponents any points by using your mobility and terrain to avoid close combat. Shadow warriors are just not the skirmishers that Wood Elves are. Heavy magic and shooting are going to be a real problem. You a...

Some starting advice... Well a few things I learned the hard way: 1. Clean all your mold lines and fill in all your gaps carefully. Look for modeling and assembly guides on line. 2. A smooth watered down undercoat is best. Don't spray in extreme hot, cold or humid environments. Black is way easier t...
