Re: Battle fo Monster Island (1200 points VC vs. HE)
/\ Not a Brass Farthing wand. I didn't figure I could afford it. I'm off to New Zealand today! Which has made me realise I"ll be unable to update in a while! Sorry. Here's the first two turns, both sides. *** The wind was chill and fierce as the battle lines were finalised. The undead had vast ...

Battle fo Monster Island (1200 points VC vs. HE)
This saturday I'm playing against my friend and his brand new Vampire Counts for the first time since the new book was released. I thought I'd give battle-reporting a shot :). My list is Chracian themed, I'll load it up later today when I get a chance. *** Above was the sun, and below nothing but gr...

Re: Seas of Blood - Naval game attempt
Asurion, that sounds cool if you could. But are they rules to use ships in regular games? Because I would like a system for purely naval situations.
Haven't progressed much on this idea yet folks, sorry... Shall see if I can manage on friday perhaps.

Seas of Blood - Naval game attempt
Well, I'm going to take a stab at something I'm sure many people have tried and failed to implement: a home-brew game designed for naval battles. I've heard there used to be one, waaaaaaay back in the day and before my time, but tis no longer supported so finding copies is difficult and free ones il...

Re: Skaven, anybody else play??
I'm slowly starting to gather up a Skaven army myself as well :). There's just so much about their fluff that I like. Plus it is terrifically fun to be able to be unabashedly sneaky and cowardly in a game :p. Favourite clan is Eshin. I started collecting just before the Island of Blood came out, so ...

Then again, remember the same thing applies to everyone else's warmachines: a single volley from a good ol' fashioned Repeater now has a decent chance of crippling or destroying any opponent's machine.

Re: 8th edition news topic
You're joking. Skaven and High Elves in the starter?! The exact two armies that I love and collect? Plastic Griffon, possibly implying a better reason for using them? More Lothern Seaguard, the unit my nautical-themed army is best represented by? Plastic White Lions and Reavers, units that I love th...

Re: Submit and Discuss your rules questions!
Weird wording in the rulebook I'd like to clear up: sorry if this had been asked already, I couldn't find it anywhere. In a game I played yesterday a unit of skavenslaves were "broken" in combat, meaning my frenzied Plague Monks could now see the phoenix guard they'd been fighting. The way...

Re: Elven Capitals?
Considering that Ulthuan is largely oligarchal in practice, it follows suit that that each realm and its High Prince would have a fairly high amount of autonomy. For such states to function with the degree of unity that the fluff implies, they'd pretty much have to have some sort of secure location...

Author: Part two and final. Enjoy! :D Alessio entered the Padrone’s mansion into the grand entrance hall. Every surface here had something expensive happening. AUthor's Notes: Chapter one of what will be a two-chapter story. Have to throw up something before it dies a painful, unread death. * Being a good guard takes a certain kind of person. Re: The Overworked and Underpaid
The other unit is usually a 10 strong detachment without command. Really? I've never heard of a spear unit being used in small numbers before: mostly I hear about Swordmaster detachments, Reavers, Dragon Princes, Chariots Eagles or Shadow Warriors in the similar support unit function. Do you think ...

More than fine, and I'd certainly like to see where it goes, but why not just put the whole story into this thread? Each time you update put in a new reply. Then, once the narratives finished and you'd like to write a sequel, you can make a new thread for that.

Re: Advice vs tomb kings needed
I second the Staff of Sorcery suggestion. I used one of them in my only game against the Tomb Kings and it effectively nullified his magic for the whole game (This was admittedly a 1000 points match, but it certainly doesn't hurt.) The less magic he gets the less movment he gets: Tomb Kings can neve...

I gotta admit I have a soft spot in my heart for the High Elven Core Troops. Citizen-militia who have some of the best movement and initiative in the game makes me proud to call myself an Asur. That said, they tend to fare horribly in my games. So, how is it that you guys most like to use your core ...

Re: [History] Assault on Naggaroth (The Day of Blood)
Woo! Good to have you back Arellion Sapher! I don't really have the energy for another of my usual pineckity critiques, so the only thing I'll draw out of this one is that calling the Everqueen a whore is a big deal. To my mind it'd cause a lot more consternation amongst the elves than anything else...

Not too bad, though not much here for me to actually critique.
Well, except to say that if the updates are this small you might want to add them as replies to this thread rather than making a new thread every time: otherwise you'll clutter up the forum.

Hey all, something I've never quite been able to figure out:
Since chariots count as a mount, can a hero in one use a lance? Or the Star Lance for that matter?

Thus far he managed to cause a wound on a Warp-Lightning Engineer (and general) 30" away. A later magical accident caused the engineer one wound, killing it.
So, in actual fact, not all that often, but for that one stunt I'm more than willing to keep him on.

Heya all, this is a list I've been using in a friendly campaign I have going with a few friends of mine. So far it's yet to be defeated (although admittedly I've always been playing 750 point enemies) so I'm pretty happy with it, and thought I'd share it. What are your thoughts? The idea is to that ...

Woo siege warfare! In one of my campaign games the current winner of the campaign has surrounded and is besieging one of my proud High Elven cities with his Chaos Dwarfs.
